You’ll work on a number of projects including residential repairs, home renovations (including basements), attic wiring, service and panel upgrades, trouble-shooting & repairs / tracing, lighting systems, and knob and tube replacement. On a typical day you'd:
- Renovate electrical systems in residential structures (not high-rise)
- Troubleshoot and isolate faults
- Determine appropriate selection of materials and methods
- Wire residential circuits in finished and unfinished environments
- Keep reports and documentation
- Ground and bond electrical equipment, systems and structures including pools and hot tubs / panel changes
- Test and measure voltage, loads, ground faults and integrity of circuits
- Drywall cutting and minor touch-ups, some finishing required and minor drywall re-installation, etc
All of the above must follow 100% code compliance – no exceptions.
What we look for:
- College, vocational or technical education
- Journeyman (309a)
- Minimum 4 years of electrical experience
- Understanding & implementation of PPE – work safety, fall arrest, ladder safety, WHMIS
- Fluent written & spoken English
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Self-starter, independent, able to work under pressure
- Customer service orientated and personable
- Clean drivers licence, own vehicle a must for trial period
